Passover

PASSOVER

The Passover is the truth of life, which God established to give eternal life to mankind. The name means “Disasters pass over.” According to the Bible, the Passover is to be celebrated at twilight on the fourteenth day of the first month in the sacred calendar, which falls on March or April in the solar calendar. To save people from the chains of sin and death, Jesus Christ came 2,000 years ago and promised them the forgiveness of sins and eternal life, giving them the bread and wine which represents His body and blood. “This cup is the new covenant in My blood,” He said. When we celebrate the Passover, following the example of Jesus, we receive God’s flesh and blood and become God’s children.

SECOND COMING CHRIST

Christianity is a religion that fundamentally believes in God who comes in the flesh to save mankind. God is omnipotent and omniscient. He can come as a human being when He wants it. In regard to Jesus who was born as a baby 2,000 years ago, the Bible says that God, the Word in the beginning, became flesh and made His dwelling among us. It is prophesied in the Bible that Christ is to appear a second time to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him (Heb 9:28). As Christ always exists as a spirit, His “second coming” means His coming in the flesh just like His first coming. To find out when Christ would come back again a second time, we need to study the parable of the fig tree

GOD THE MOTHER

Many Christians believe that there is only one God—God the Father. However, the Bible testifies that there is not only God the Father but also God the Mother. This is a mystery that has puzzled many people for a long time. We can see this where it is stated “Our Father in heaven” (Mt 6:9), and also that “The Jerusalem that is above is free, and she is our mother” (Gal 4:26). Our Heavenly Mother is prophesied to come down from heaven to this earth along with Second Coming Christ at the last days to give us the water of life. Hence no one knows about her identity until she's ready to be revealed. The Church of God believes in God the Father and God the Mother on the basis of the Bible.

Sabbath Day

It is perceived that most Christians go to church to keep worship on Sunday. However, the Bible clearly shows that the correct day of worship is actually on Saturday, which is known as the Sabbath Day. This is a rest day that God appointed for His people to celebrate for lasting generations. God also blessed the day and made it holy, setting it aside from Sunday worship. However, after 321 AD, the churches started to deviate from keeping the Sabbath and instead adopted Sunday worship to avoid persecution from Romans. As time goes by, people started to forget the Sabbath and only remember Sunday worship. This is breaking the fourth commandment of the Ten Commandments given by God.

Baptism

Baptism

As a Christian, it is essential to receive baptism to be born again spiritually. Just as a baby receives new life, we too must be baptized to gain eternal life. This is the first step in receiving salvation. Without it, we cannot be recognized as having citizenship in the kingdom of heaven, nor can we be acknowledged as God's people. 2000 years ago, Jesus taught that we need to be baptized in the name of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. The name of the Father is Jehovah. The name of the Son is Jesus. Then what about the name of the Holy Spirit? It certainly cannot be Holy Spirit since it's a title. Then what is the name of the Savior that we need to be baptized in this age?

Veil Regulation

Based on the Bible, men do not cover their heads during prayer or worship whereas women cover theirs heads with veils. It was established to keep the church in order and reflects God's providence of creation. We can find this teaching in the book of 1 Corinthians chapter 11. However, not many churches observe it today, thinking it's not important or necessary to worship God wearing veil or not. Some churches having men cover their heads. Other churches having women leave their heads uncovered. This is against the teaching of Christ given to the church. We should recognize our mistakes and change to follow the examples that Christ and the apostles set so we can worship God correctly, in spirit and in truth.
